engine missfire?
2012 Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi. When I turn onto highway from dead stop and head up a long hill (about 1/2 mile), the engine feels like it is misfiring. This only occurs when pulling hard under 2000 RPM. Dealer says is MDS and is normal, but can't explain why MDS engages from standstill. Anyone have same problem or any ideas as to what is going on.
Not MDS but possibly traction control, I've had it happen to me once. Dry road, inclined ramp, turning slightly to the right, tromped on the gas and it felt like it died. I could have been rear ended on the ramp.
I hate drive by wire and too much computer control. I know what I want to do and how to drive my damn truck!!

On my 2012, when traction control kicks in there's a light on the dash that's yellow or blinks. If you're not seeing that, it's likely not traction control.
How hard can you be pulling if you're under 2000 rpm?
My "ECO" light doesn't come on ever during acceleration.
