You say to wash it properly, just what do you mean? I use a good car wash, but with the spots I get I have to chamois it off, or use the master blaster. The chamois takes the wax off, doesn't it?

We do most damage to our paint when we wash by rubbing dirt back in. There are many different methods including Garry Deans wash method, (google it), but the most common is the two bucket. One for wash and one for rinse. Use a very safe soap, never dish soap. A foam gun works real awesome as well. Put a "grit guard" (basically a screen) in the rinse bucket so you do not contaminate the soap. If you have real hard water, you can get filters just for your hose to soften it. As for drying, I use a leaf blower or a waffle weave microfiber towel.

Very good I will look that up. I did buy a filter for the hose, but it must not be the right one, as it made very little difference with my spots. I'm guessing I need a softener to get rid of my spots. I use Ice car wash, and it seems to be ok. Once I get some wax on it that I like, I will use the Master Blaster to dry it every time. Hopefully that will keep the wax on the truck the longest. Thanks again.

I am by no means a professional but the regimen I follow is clay and polish twice a year. Usually right before winter then again in the spring. Wash as much as possible and use a sealant like Klasse Sealant Glaze about every three months. Basically a wipe-on, wipe-off product. Too get that really deep shine, you can then use a wax like Mother's. Just understand that a wax is good for about a month, the synthetic sealants 3-4 months.

Ok, ordered the Zaino kit today. Also watched the Garry Dean rinseless wash video. We may also try that. I like the idea of it, but also had questions, like what do you do with a really dirty car, like bird dirt, mud etc. I guess you have to pre rinse? Of course the Porsche he was cleaning was already pretty clean. I did ordered some of the "juice". We'll see how it goes. Thanks again for the help!

Yeah, his rinseless method is slick but that's a lot of towels for our trucks. I might try it once just see how many I go through. If you keep it clean and coated, the big dirt should just come off with a hose.

I was checking his website and videos, and saw he now has a "perfect wash system" but it has a bunch of suds, which means he has to rinse it off with a hose. I got the "juice" the other day, and I may still try it, but I got a Zaino complete kit, and they provide the wash stuff in that kit. To be fair, and give the Zaino a fair shot, I will try all their products as instructed, and see how it looks.

That is a lot of towels that he uses. I think we could get away with 8-10 towels. Some of these guys want you to use a $10.99 microfiber towel. I'm all for keeping my truck clean, but $80-$100 in towels, naaaa I don't think so, LOL! Not sure when I can get to applying the Zaino, hopefully it will be soon.

Just washed, barred, waxed mine today. Spent like 6 hours.

Impressed with the results though.

It depends on what kind of wax you use. There are some that you get an phenomenal shine and hardness, but it needs to be re-applied every 6 wks or so. A lot of work for a truck. For my ram I stick to just megs nxt, and wax it about 4 times a year. I really should do it more often, though.
