Default Front end wobble.

2009 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab
Lift level kit.
I get the 4x4 lift/level shakes but have rarely used 4x4 under serious load to get them.

I'm getting front end wobble at various speeds in 2wd. The worst of it is around 65mph currently. You can feel the vibration in the entire truck and there is steering wheel feedback. Leading me to believe that it is front end related. Enough to rattle my watch. Like a half inch either way on the wheel.

I rotated the tires with little to no effect.
I checked for play in the steering by jacking up the entire front end and pulling/pushing on everything.
Checked for bushing play in the front control arms.
Checked for play in the hubs/unit bearing.(Which a friend tells me they replace a lot of)
Checked for loose or worn cv joints in the front axle shafts.(Which is what I was thinking it was.)

I'll be checking the driveshafts.

What else should I look at?

CrawfishStu,

Keep us posted after the alignment is done. I hope it resolves your shake concerns.

Alignment was all jacked up.

But, it still has more of shake than I would like.

Well, you put $20 worth of hockey pucks in to jack up the front end - what did you expect

It has been aligned twice since the lift. Once the day I put the lift on and once when I had new tires put on last.

Do they have any guesses on how it is getting back out of alignment? Toe in isn't one of those things that just changes on its own.

They had no guesses. But I have one. I checked my service history from the dealer and when I brought it in for something they changed out tie rod ends as a recall item.
