Default new to forum- 2013 electrical issues :(

Hi guys, my name is Mike im new to forums. Im a proud owner of the new 2013 dodge ram sport 6 speed quad cab. I just recently traded my 07 in for her. My 07 which was my first vehicle ive owned n the 2013 is my second.

just curious to if anyone has had electrical issues with their 2013? I have two major issues! 1st- only at night is it when my back up camera goes all fuzzy kinda like a old tv, 2nd- twice now its happened but when my lights are on auto, ill be driving and WHAM! My dash lights, nav screen all black out and apparently my head/tail lights do as well. Reason why I no this is cause a cop pulled me over saying I didn't have my lights on. I then explained the situation and he understood. When I take it to the dealership, all the say is well it don't do it to us when we have it so I dunno... Has anyone experienced these issues???

The obvious thing to look at would be the light sensor if it only happens when in Auto.

Can't help with the dash lights. I do have the same issue with the rear camera. Actually, it's partially resolved. The dealer replaced the rear camera but the issue is still there mostly at night. Chrysler advised them to replace the radio as well so i am wanting on one to not be back ordered. Thankfully the only other issue I have is the headlight fog up. Apparently they redesigned them and mine are the originals.

Hunter: If your headlight is fogging up it can be fixed pretty easily. Follow normal directions to remove the headlight unit as if you were going to change a bulb then, with the unit totally removed from the wiring harness and the truck, do the following: Remove all the bulbs and the big circular rear cover. Get a hairdryer and turn it on low or medium and point it into one of the openings. Let it run for 5 minutes or so, but check it every so often to make sure it isn't getting too hot. Then move it to one of the other bulb openings and repeat. This will dry out any water that has become trapped in the unit. Having put HIDs on mine I now have a rubber grommet with the wires running out of the back of the dust cover so every once in a while the car wash will get some water in my headlights through that. This process works well to clear it out.
