09, cracked weld on drive shaft yoke? anyone heard of this yet?

i posted in the n08 thread. had that recall done and this is what they found.
so i got a new drive shaft. lifetime powertrain.

being honest. i dont really drive the truck hard at all. never been in the mud, basically a highway truck. once and a while ill let her breathe, but never really from a dead stop.

im "low' on miles 45k been driving it 4-1/2 yrs. didnt have any vibrations or weird noises etc.

Rare occasion, dont see it often, BUT, it DOES happen. I`m sure you`re not the first that this has happened to.
Millions of driveshafts out there, gonna get a bad one sooner or later. Just be happy they found it, and not on your dime.

Yes, rare.

Only time I have ever seen it was back in the muscle car days when friends would run at the track and I can only remember seeing one. Usually everything else in front of and in back of the drive shaft exploded before the drive shaft did.

It started out as a leak I noticed from the output shaft seal of the transfer case. After further investigation they replaced inner and output shaft seals, the output shaft, new driveshaft, and the other connection that attaches to rear diff? Name escapes me right now...
Everything brand new! Not to bad. I've probably tallied over $2500 in repairs so far because of the lifetime they are free!!
