Default Miles to empty

The other day i got to drive my father in laws 2009 RAM 1500 with the 4.7 and notice the truck would tell you how many miles until empty. I personally have a 2010 RAM 1500 5.7 HEMI, and it does no tell me how many miles until empty. I wanted to know is there a way to get this option on my truck?

Distance To Empty should be displayed in the EVIC under the 'Fuel Economy' section. Unless you have a base-level truck with no EVIC you should have this option. See page 227 in your owner's manual.

LoneStar edition should have an EVIC menu
Scroll down your EVIC menu (up/down arrows on steering wheel) to FUEL ECONOMY, then hit the right arrow button on your steering wheel. This will then display your DTE (distance to empty). To get back out of the fuel economy display, just use the back arrow on the steering wheel to bring you back to the main EVIC menu. If you read your operators manual, this is explained in detail in there as well.
