Default Truck won't start

Hey everybody, still kind of new to the 4th gen crowd and haven't posted much on the subject of a 4th gen. I have a 2012 1500 with 23k miles. Late this afternoon I went to remote start my truck and it wouldn't start. Couldn't figure out why. So then I went and tried to manually start my truck and it still wouldn't start. I had power when I turned the key but there was no starter or starter solenoid noise. So then I shifted it into neutral and it started right up. Kind of weird. Only thing that I think it could be is some kind of relay in the shifter???? Would anybody be able to shed some light on this? Have there been any problems associated with it?? I tried to replicate the problem but it didn't happen again.

There is a interlock so it will not start when in gear. Will it never start in park and always start in neutral?

Move the shifter around and try it in park

Yeah, I guess the only thing it could be was that the shifter wasn't all the way into Park, which is why it probably wouldn't start at the time. I haven't had any issues since. But it makes me wonder if something could be getting loose or if it was one of those one time deals.
