2014 6.4L Temps
Hello All,
New to this forum but not new to Dodge/Ram trucks.
I just purchased a White 2014 2500 4x4 Crew Cab 8 foot bed with the 6.4 L HEMI.
My question is does any one know just how hot one of these engines is supposed to run.
Coolant - 206 F
Oil - 212 F
The above temps are what the electronic read out says and the Gauges still read with in normal limits.
The trans temp has never risen above 176 even in city driving.
I traded a 2012 5.7 L HEMI 4x4 for this truck and the temps were no where near these temps.

Can't say that I have any idea about that engine, but on my 2010 Hemi it routinely runs around 200* for coolant and oil in long distance highway driving. I don't think the trans typically gets over 140* though. Not that this info helps for your engine, but you said your 5.7L was nowhere near your current temps so I figured I'd offer a counterpoint to that.

Your numbers look normal to me... new truck is still tight yet, not to mention that its a bigger engine, compared to your 5.7, you`ll likely gonna see some slightly higher temps. I surely wouldnt worry about it. A few degree`s here or there is not an issue. Take into concideration that the gauges and sending units will vary among all the vehicles a few degree`s from each other... like i said, nothing to be worried about. If you see drastic temp`s (50+ degree out of range), then you better get a professional tech to look at it. But for what you describe, just drive it like you stole it.

Be sure to check your fluid level`s. And if you havent done so yet,
change your oil & oil filter to a good synthetic motor oil (valvoline syn-power is my choice)
