Default 2010 Ram 1500 5.7 Check Engine Light Help

Hello,

I have a 2010 1500 SLT, with a 5.7 Hemi. It has 47,000 miles on it.

A little history...around 43,000 miles, the check engine light came on, the dealer stated the plugs needed to be changed per standard maintenance. I changed all 16 (not an easy task), but managed, and seemed to fix the problem.

Yesterday, the check engine light came back on. This time I put a code reader on it, and found a P0307 error, which I know means cylinder 7 misfire.

As the day went on, and temps got warmer (maybe a coincidence), the check engine light did not illuminate on the dash.

Had the same results happen today. Light on in the morning (going to work) and off on my way home.

My plan is to change the cylinder 7 spark plugs (cheapest option) and swap cylinder 7 ignition coil pack with cylinder 5, and see what the results are.

Any other ideas??

Sorry for the long post, and all advice/tips are appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!!

-Bobby

Default Update

This morning (40F), did not have a check engine light with 15 minute at idle and 20 min drive to work.

Seems like this is going to be an intermittent problem.

Also, it feels like the truck is running fine. Even when the light was on, I couldn't feel an obvious misfire.
