Default Brake job - Rotors and Pads

I have just over 104K miles and it's time to do the brakes. Looks like a lot of options out there for kits, as I plan to replace rotors and pads all around. I will probably go with drilled and slotted and an upgraded pad. Who has done theirs? What'd you use? Was it a simple swap? Any headaches I should be aware of? Other recommendations??

Thanks in advance!

IMO, slotted/cross drilled is a little overkill on a pickup. Those belong on ricers, tuners and road race cars, not 6000 lb trucks. Cross drilled will eventually crack. Go with a decent mid-grade setup from your local parts store. Brakebest, Duralast, etc. I have had zero problems using them on any of my vehicles.

Drilled/slotted, silly on a street vehicle especially if you have winter. Got rust and rot?

The factory rotors lasted 100K for me, 2 sets of pads front and 1 rear. Just replaced front and rear with Raybestos pro rotors and wagner thermoquiet pads. I would have replaced with Mopar rotors, but they were overly expensive.

I had a warped rotor at only 50000KM, decided to go all out on my brake job.
EBC Premium rotors and Heavy Duty ceramic pads.

It's not about how fast you can go, it about having control and he ability to safely stop.

x2-- Really not necessary or beneficial on a street truck or any truck for that matter. Good quality smooth rotors offer max braking surface. RockAuto.com has a good selection.

Thanks for the info. For what it's worth, I'm not racing around in my truck, just thought the drilled and slotted may perform cooler. I'll check out those Raybestos rotors. Much appreciated folks.
