Glove Box Ipod Connection
I, probably wrongly, started a thread "Looking for glove box ipod cord". And, then I was directed to this "related thread". Not being sure if I am doing something wrong... here. I will ask, if someone knows how to get ahold of a glove box ipod cord, I would appreciate the help. Dealer says, unavailable. My searches come up with complete harness. Which I think is not even the correct harness. I only need the glove box cord! Thanks, if you respond. Thanks, even if you just get to the end of my rant. Lol.
Your username indicates you have a 2010 Ram. I had one too. The 2010 model came with an iPod connector that was obsolete even before the vehicle was built. In order to use it with any modern iPhone/iPod built since 2010 you'll need an adapter anyway and then it won't really work very well as the control and charging capabilities are not compatible. Your better situation is to get a bluetooth adapter with a headphone jack (like a CoolStream Duo) and connect it to the Aux-in of the factory radio. Then connect your phone to the adapter. You'll have to control the audio from the phone but at least it will be wireless and you won't have had to spend a bunch on proprietary physical connectors and adapters.
Life is so much better with newer vehicles that have bluetooth built into the factory radios so you can connect your phone directly and have control from the radio.
