Default Windshield Washer Idiot Light won't turn off.

Is the Windshield Washer Idiot light something I can reset myself on my 2011 1500 without taking it into the dealer? The fluid level was low, then I refilled it & the light stays on.

If you have checked the connections on the sensor and looked at the sensor itself and everything seems ok, then disconnect the battery for a bit.

Are you using standard windshield washer fluid or the Rain-X stuff? The Rain-X stuff has been noted to cause sensor issues. Clean your WWF reservoir sensor and switch to standard and it will be fine.

I had issues on my 06' and my 11' Ram's with this exact issue. Both times it was the same cause, Rain-X orange washer fluid. If that is what you are using you have three choices.

1. Ignore the light and keep using Rain-X
2. Use up or drain the Rain-X Orange stuff and refill with any blue washer fluid and the light will go off and stay off.
3. Remove the sensor and solder a wire across the two tabs and you can use Rain-X all you want with the understanding that you will never get a low fluid light ever again.

If you are using regular blue washer fluid and have the light stuck on the sensor replacement is easy. Just a simple plug. And the price is beyond cheap. How does $2.56 with FREE shipping for a Mopar factory part sound?

Either a 100 Ohm or a 4k resistor in the pigtail should fix your warning permanently. I'm not sure which way the resistance swings on your truck when full...

Oh Buggar... The Rain-X orange is the exact stuff I use, but I have been using it since I got the truck a few years ago, so that's weird... THANK YOU for the responses & help on this one!
