Winter is coming...Newb to chains/cables
Well the colder season is coming upon us here in southen California and the family is finally old enough now to hit the local snow mountains. I was hoping for some input on what to buy for the ram regarding chains or cables. Any style, brand type? Online, auto parts store? Any help would be much appreciated.

My .02 - put 400-600lbs of sand tubes in the back of the truck and call it good unless there is some sort of regulation requiring you to carry chains. With sufficient weight in the back a 2wd goes just fine in the snow, I've taken many trips to Montana through the passes and to ski areas with my 2009.
If you do decide on chains, I'd be curious to hear what the prevailing logic is about if they should be used on the front of a 2wd truck

The owners manual call for type "S" chains so they don't tear up the sensors.
I also live in the Southern Cal area and I bought from here;

I got the diamond quick fit. Easy to put on and they work really well. But it's still a good idea to put some weight in the bed.

Thanks Pedro. I looked at the video and they look easy to install. Do we need all 4 wheels chaing or just the rear? I know, dumb question but Im a newb to the snow chains. Did tire chain come in a set of four or did you buy two sets? Thanks a bunch.
They come in a set of 2. I have 2WD so I've only used them in the back. I have some property in the sierras outside Yosemite and one of my neighbors has a really steep driveway on gravel. He chains up 4 wheels when it snows or get muddy. I don't think you will ever need to do that.
