Default line output convertor where to install?

2010 laramie 3500 with the alpine system. Looking to install my sub and amp and looking at an audio control lci2 line output convertor. Heard you can install directly onto the wiring from the factory amp to the sub. Is this correct will I get all frequency?? Any help would be appreciated also is there a different line output convertor that would work better or easier??

Hey Man,

The easiest thing to use is this.

PAC-Audio C2A-CHY23

This is a direct plug-n-play module that is made specifically for Chrysler vehicles. Plugs in between the factory harness and your radio and gives you Front and Rear Low level outputs with gain controls without touching any factory installed equipment. Just use the rear set of RCA's to control your sub and your good to go. I ran this setup for a long time in my 2010 1500 TRX4 until I upgraded to an Advent OCH1 Factory replacement radio. Keeps steering wheel controls and no splicing or cutting necessary.

Let me know if you have any questions.

If you're just adding a sub I'd go with an amp that has high-level inputs and use the stock sub harness. Subs with high-level inputs are easily available these days and they work just fine. I used an Alpine amp and sub and it sounds great with my stock radio. Just tap into the stock wiring at the factory sub location. Easy and free.
