Default 2004 hemi threw a rod will 2011 5.7 work?

Ok, like the post title says, 04 5.7 hemi threw a rod, have access to a 2014 5.7 hemi.

will they interchange or are there issues?

are you talking about the whole engine? For one thing, the 14 is drive by wire so that part won't work. The front end (timing chain assy) of the 14 has a hydraulic cam phaser that you'll have to disable, there is just too much to do to get it to work

Thanks Pedro, are the longblocks the same or should I look for a reman 04?

I would go buy a re-manufactured long block of the same year as the truck. Then all of the other stuff will bolt right on and the electronics won't be a hassle.
