Yall get your popcorn ready

2009 SLT CC HEMI . 3.21 rear end ,Rambox . the 09's came with lifetime power train warranty
today the clock will turn 253,000 miles ... I bought the MAXCARE lifetime 100.00 deductible for 1800.00
ill start start from newest to oldest

Fuel Pump >> covered after 200,000 miles
water pump >> covered after 200,000 miles
Exhaust bolts ... covered on power train 2 nd time
back seatbelt >>> covered
drivers door module for lock and window >> covered
the door handle not covered paid out of pocket
Blower fan >> covered
the a/c door fixed once .. then again they covered it again
both front wheel bearings
pinon gear recall , replaced all the gears
Paid 350.00 for paint and interior protection 5 yrs . i got some kind of bad tree sap or acid wash . with 4 years and 7 months they repainted the whole truck , 200,000 miles Rainbow Paint body company , took out all my dings and painted it for 4300.00
I run K & N drop in filter
I use platinum spark plugs , change soon for 2nd set [original at 45,000 , 145,000, 257,000??
Use standard oil not synthetic , change every 5,000 [ in February to March of 2015 exact 30 days i did 5,000 miles ... crazy
so 1800.00 for lifetime " bumper to bumper" 100.00 deductible
350.00 paint protection
I THINK I AM AHEAD ON THIS ONE
Yall get out and drive your trucks ... lol
looking at the 2015 Ecodiesel , 30 mpg i could use that kind of milage ...

Yup, you are the poster boy for the "lifetime" extended warranty. You be careful on the Ecodiesel, they don't offer the lifetime on that model. The ED forum I've been reading is full of problem trucks so I suggest you do some research first.

With your miles, many of your problems would not have been covered by the extended warranties being offered.

I drive the **** out of 09. Hard to find anyone with this mileage, I'll do 100-150 miles a day or more .
I'm researching the eco diesel. Nissian is coming out with a new Titian with 5.0 cummins ( Tweener) between 1/2 or 3/4

For sure, nowadays everything including your automobile is disposable.

I had an '85 Astro van. 4.3, 2wd. When I sold it with 228k it was still mechanically sound, just a problem with paint on the hood.

Other than normal wear items, the only repairs I did were to replace the alternator at around 175k and the fuel pump at about 200k. Side note - that thing had an auto full-locking rear diff that was amazing. If you spun enough to lock it, say coming off a dirt road onto a paved one, when you made the turn on the pavement you'd actually squeal the tires just from the turn because it turned into a solid axle. One time I was having a hard time getting the tires balanced so I sent my wife to a place that balanced the tires on the vehicle. I told her to warn the guy that he couldn't do just one rear at a time - the whole back end had to be off the ground. Of course, he knew better than the woman, so he drove it off the jack stand before he learned to listen to that woman...

When I bought my '09 ram, the guy was pushing me hard on all kinds of warranties and playing the monthly payment game with me. He was using different interest rates to move my monthly payments around. We had settled on the lowest interest rate that he said I qualified for (my credit score is around 800) so I had a monthly payment set already. He offered me a bumper to bumper 7 years/70k miles for around $2200 for "only this much more a month". I declined and then he lowered it to $1800 for "only this much more a month". Again, I declined and to my surprise, he clicked a few buttons on his computer and made me a better offer because he "magically" found me a lower interest rate. This is illegal in California, he has to give me the best rate I qualify for. He said I could cancel it within a certain period for 100% refund. This time I said yes and got the lower rate. I went home that night and cancelled the warranty the next day. I did have to write a letter but I got all of my money back and a lower interest rate. So I played their game to my advantage.
This sounds like the 84 month/100k warranty I got with my Ram and the 200 we bought. He explained it kind of as whole life insurance. I said no at first and then he magically tapped around on the PC and my wife's interest rate went from 4.44% to 2.9% and mine went from 5.0% to 3.29% effectively make the monthly payment I told them about only $40 more a month compared to $100 when he first offered it. It really is bull**** all the crap they play and I am still trying to figure out if I got a good deal or not, they came back way to fast when I told them my final offer making me think I could have gotten it lower. They played a game with me on my trade in's and I effectively got $300 for 2 cars but I owed a lot on my oil burning TSX still and her Taurus was worth about $100 anyways. I was at the dealer from 7pm-midnight that day and I should have walked out but then I wouldn't have gotten my truck I love so much. I plan on keeping the extended warranty for a while in case any of the electronics start to get nutty, I am like a lot of you guys in I can fix my own stuff but it's the electronics on these new trucks and that new 8 speed that have me worried the most, it is nice to be able to get out of the extended warranty when I want though and get my money back hopefully. Was yours through Zurich Pedro?

IMO if you are going to keep your vehicle and run the miles up you cant put a price tag on piece of mind, the lifetime maxcare is worth every penny.

Just looked at my receipt yesterday. Warranty alone was $1800.

Ouch I feel like I just fell off the turnip truck. I went with the 6 year/100k warranty. Guess I won't sit right for a while.

I did get $4K for my trade and $4.5K in rebates, which is nice so I guess I have that going for me.
