2012 Ram Hemi down shift issue and tick noise
I have a 5.7 Hemi 6 speed automatic. I don't know if it's normal, but i can be cruising down the road at 25mph, and let off the throttle, and it sound like it has trouble down shifting, it will have this weird drone sound for a bit then finally down shift. It sounds weird. I also have a ticking noise when i start my truck. I heard its normal they call it a "Hemi tick" but it's not normal to me cause no other vehicle sounds like that. Anyone got any idea what it could be it would be appreciated.
I have a 2012 also.
I helped the tick considerably by using 1 quart of Lucas oil treatment with Mobil 1 synthetic oil. It took 90 % of the noise out of it.
My truck has some odd shifting behaviors too. Sometimes at slow speeds it kinda bogs but not really, then it downshifts and I have to be ready because once it downshifts I have had my foot in it for a few seconds and it will go pretty quickly.

I can't say with any certainty but I have had 3 Hemis with the throttle by wire and none of them seemed to be as consistent or predictable as I would like regarding the downshift points. None of them have been really bad just not as good as I would like.
