Default Tire Size Question- New guy- I promise I searched first

I tried to find the answer to avoid having to ask something that's been asked....but I couldn't find any clear info. I've got a 2015 Ram 2500 MegaCab 2wd and I'm looking to replace the stock 285/60r20 with something more aggressive. I can't get a clear answer on

1. what will fit stock with no alterations- will a 275/65 r20 or a 285/65 r 20 fit without rubbing? In an all terrain? Mud terrain?

2. what will fit w/ a 2" or 2.5" level only- I'm thinking a 295/65 r 20 or a 35x12.5x20 but not sure if I'd still have rub issues because of the width?

I've even gotten different answers from local tire shops and have been hesitant to pull the trigger because I want to be sure and not just trial and error this and spend alot of money just to have to cut to avoid rubbing. Any definitive help would be GREATLY appreciated.
