4th Gen rear axle bearing problems
Have had rear diff bearings replaced 4 times in the 1st 45,000 miles.
1st time they replaced ring and pinion and pinion bearing at 13,000 miles.
2nd at 16,736 miles - replaced pinion and carrier bearings.
3rd at 26,411 miles - again pinion and carrier bearings.
each time they said isolated problem (NOT COMMON)
4th time at 43,335 miles - I researched on the internet and found that there are lots of rear pinion problems. After calling Chrysler to ask for assistance to get different vehicle, they asked me to take back to dealership to verify problem, I complied and they installed new complete axle assembly (without permission) but would then not discuss anything with me (wouldn't answer or return calls).
Has anyone else had similar issues?
Now they say my vehicle was never part of this giant recall for what sounds like the same problem.
My truck never carries a load but did tow a Jeep about 8 times a year, about 7,200lb with trailer. My truck has 3.92 axle for over 10,000lb tow rating

The recall was for the 2009 model year (not sure about the 2010) but not for the 2012.
My guess is that the dealer doing the repairs didn't have anyone qualified to do the job right so they just kept botching the rebuilds. If you got a whole new assy, then you should be golden.
The one question I have is, did you get a 2015 axle or a 2012?
