Default Tire Decision Time (need your help)

Alrighty, its new tire time. I am currently running a set of 295/70R17 Nitto Trail Grapplers with Bilsteins cranked all the way up., I have gotten 40,000 miles out of them and loved every mile. Unfortunately they cut my gas mileage down to about 11.5mpg with about 80% highway mileage. I was getting about 16.9 before I switched. I live in GA so Snow and ice is not a big deal (Plus I have a rock crawler if it gets to bad) mainly mileage and looks is what I am after. I have been looking at Nitto Terra Grappler G2's in either a 285 or 295 flavor or the Nitto Exo Grapplers in a 285. Here are the weights of the tires

Current- Trail Grappler- 70.1lbs
Terra Grappler G2 295/70R17- 58.2lbs
Terra Grappler G2 285/70R17- 44.5lbs
Exo Grappler 285/70R17- 55lbs

The G2's come with a 65k mileage warranty and the Projected mileage of the exo grapplers is about 47k.

My main Dilema is there going to be a noticeable ride quality difference in between the two on the road, will a 285 exo grappler look a little small on the truck, can anyone tell me if they have the G2's and what kind of mpg you are getting with them? lots of questions. I some outside ideas as mine have been driving me NUTS!. These tires will probably see a little dirt when Im towing the Rock Cralwer but thats about it. Mainly rain and maybe a little snow if I go visit the family in Illinois.

I'm running the G2 TGs but they are the stock size of P265 70R 17. I was running coopers before, also in the stock size. Both the Nittos and Coopers run about the same but the TG seem to wear better. I have a 2009 CC SLT 2WD with the 3.21 axle. The difference in MPGs between the stock Goodyear SRAs and the Coopers or G2s is minor. I don't think I lost much if any MPGs.

I get a solid 19-20 MPG on the highway running 70-75 MPH. Sometimes if the wind is favorable I can get 21. On the street it varies depending if its city traffic with a stop at every other corner or some small town country lanes. The heavy duty city milage is about 13.5 to 14 and the small town country lanes about 15 MPG

295 will fit and look good though you might loose some mpg, may be around 2.

I will say, the Trail Grapplers I am running right now are 295's and they look really nice. But I lost probably 4 MPGs, not worth it for purely aesthetic purposes. The only time this truck goes off road is when Im towing the Rock Crawler up a mountain to an OHV Park.
