How about the remote start system, itself?

The battery model is the same, but possibly the battery itself is bad/defective? I'm just trying to eliminate smaller potential causes. If you try another battery and it still behaves in the same manner, I would recommend having this diagnosed by a FCA dealership.

Bought another Energizer CR2032 3V from Canadian Tire....Still the same....I just ordered the Panasonic CR2032 3V..... exactly the same that came out of the key fob....If that doesn't work then I will certainly have the dealership take a look.....good thing my second key fob works perfectly....the one with the original battery....

Yes, definitely glad that you have a working second fob.

Hopefully the new battery will do the trick for you. Be sure to keep us posted!

One of my key fobs got damaged internally by keeping it in my pocket with another large ring of keys. The remote start and lock buttons no longer worked but the spare fob that my wife kept did. I keep the minimum amount of keys with my fob now. I'm pretty sure you are going to have to replace yours, as the button is likely no longer closing the contacts.

Thanks for looping back around for an update, toss42. Sorry to hear that didn't work! As blakels suggested, you may end up needing a new key fob. At this point I would recommend having a dealership take a look at this.
