Default Transmission? Drive Shaft? Rear Dif? Help!!

I have an 09 Ram that's developed a serious problem over that last 2 weeks. I put it in reverse, move about 3 feet and it's like I back in to a wall. Comes to an abrupt stop. The first time it happened, I thought I hit another car. 2nd time it happened I thought I ran over my kids bike ... neither were the case. I have already made an appointment at the dealer because this should be warranty work ... but has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, what was it??

Is that a dealer installed lift? Sounds like the rear diff is shot, but with the lift they may deny warranty.

It's not a factory lift. I have the Lifetime motor and powertrain warranty ... hoping it's covered under that. I'll let you know what they come back with.

E-brake shoes locking up in rotors? I just removed mine because they were dragging a little bit and I had a heck of a time getting the rotors off.

Jack up the rear and spin the tires. I agree, might be parking brakes.
