Angry 4.7 Sluggish / Cranking Issues

2009 1500 w/ 4.7

Alright I'm at a loss.

Issue 1: Occasionally when turning the key to start the truck, there is a about a 2 sec delay before anything responds. I mean no dash lights, nothing. It will then crank.

Issue 2: Occasionally when driving (say 40-60mph) and attempting to accelerate, it seems unresponsive as if all power is gone. Also, when accelerating from a stop, after hitting the gas, it will sometimes hesitate and not respond for a couple seconds, which usually causes me to floor it, another second of hesitation, and it will respond accordingly.

I've done plugs and boots, cleaned throttle body, and have read that it could be EGR...but I'm not throwing any codes other than having TPMS light on due to bad sensor.

Any ideas?

Do you have the tilt steering wheel? I don't know about the '09, but I have heard of trucks with tight steering column wiring that can become loose with the wheel tilted. Try different angles.

if your truck came with a second key, use it. I found out with my 2005 Dakota that the keys tend to wear down over time and the computer looses it connection to the fob, once I switched to my second key, all issues went away.

I do. However it has been tilted all the way up since I bought it. Ill try switching the key. It doesn't happen all the time.

Im mostly worried about the performance issues. I also seem to have developed a water leak. After a hard rain, when i begin to drive, Ill have water stream out of the upper bolt hole of the "oh ****" handle on the drivers side.

Any idea on that one?

for issue #2, maybe the accelerator module in the drive by wire is flaky.
