Default would you buy this warranty???

So I just bought a 2010 1500 with 76xxx miles, they call and are offering me a 5 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty for an extra $2800 with a $100 deductible...Truck runs really good and has been well maintained so Im thinking im good for the next 5 years, just curious if anyone would be adding this to their payment for piece of mind should there be a problem with something.

Would this warranty take you out to 176,xxx miles and last until 2022? This doesn't sound right. As it is right now, you have what's left of the 5 yr/100,000 power train warranty.

That's a lot of mula for warranty. I own a 2009 with 117,xxx relatively problem free miles and have the original owner life time power train warranty and did use it for a rear differential rebuild at 108k miles. Dealer took 2 weeks to do the job. I had the repair priced by a private shop and it would have cost me about $1500.

$2800 pays for a lot of repairs plus the $100 the first time you use it. This is a tough call on an older truck. I'd just skip it and roll the dice.

Was it a Mopar or aftermarket warranty?

Look it over carefully. Last one I got was on a Subaru. The sales lady lied about the terms. 6 year or 100k miles. Mileage included the 72k already on the car. The contract said 6 years from date of purchase but the fine print said 6 years from the original date of purchase when it was new. I went a few rounds with the Subaru dealer and got no where. The next Subaru will come from a different dealer if and when the wife wants a new one.
