Default 2013 4x4 acting up...

I have a 2013 ram 1500 Laramie 4x4.vehicle is stock with 50k miles on it.I purchased the vehicle new in 2013.

The 4wd has always acted weird to me in this particular truck(i have owned 4x4s most of my life).so the other evening we take the truck to the river for a evening of fishing.park truck on top of a big gravel bar.Get in the truck to leave and the it just starts diggin and sinking so i put the truck in 4 LOW and everything seems to lock in fine... this the part that bugs me.it would let the rear tires slip what felt like 2 full revolutions and then it would engage the front end and pull.i have to back up several times as i had gotten in tight spot with trees.every time i backed the truck up or stopped it would do this same cycle of the rear tires slipping then the front would grab.... almost like it was in 4wd auto. is this normal for these trucks.thanks for any help or advice.Travis

Hi Travis,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.
