Default Factory Plastic Chrome Rims

Mine are original on my '09 Ram 1500. They actually look better dirty than clean. Do these plastic covers come off? Looking to have black rims, not sure if these can be altered or if I need to replace them. Any examples out there as to what people have tried?
Thanks,
Jim

They csn be removed but the wheel underneath looks like crap. The covers are epoxied on and what does not come off with the plastic is stuck on the wheel.

If you like the ones you have and just want black go to utube and type in plasti dip. I used it to black out my emblems and it looks great. Lots of videos on doing rims. Also you can get seveeral colors from say flat black then use their crap cant remember what its called but it gives the black a satin shine then they have another that gives it a gloss shine.
