Headlight unit removal
Had left front turn signal go out. Checked out how to access the bulb to change.
What a pain!, finally get the headlight unit out, change the bulb and re install.
Go to change the right side before bulb goes. Undo the screws, unlatch the clip and the darn thing won't come out. Checked the clip and tried again. Won't come out, wiggles around won't budge. Used a small pry bar between light and fender to help pull it forward, no luck.
Moved the inner liner so I could see inside, didn't see any obvious hang ups. If I had my hammer handy it would have come our in pieces.
So what's the secret?
Any ideas short of using my hammer or visiting the dealer

I'm not sure what year your Ram is, or if it might be any different from my 2014. I just had my headlights out last night for the second time in 2 weeks. On mine, the passenger side was more difficult to get out as well - the first time. Just when I was about to give up, it finally popped free. It seemed to just be stuck in the little ball joint retainer thingy. Last night it came out without much difficulty.
Also, the service manual suggests that the grill does not need to come out to remove the headlight assemblies, but there are a couple of tabs that make it difficult to get enough leverage to unclip the assemblies. If you haven't already, I'd suggest you remove the grill and try again. There are 4 bolts along the core support, then 2 snap-in clips down each side that unclip the grill from the truck.

It's a 2009. I did remove the grill, made access easier. Thinking it over, it likely is the post and ball thing that's hung up. Will be trying again to get it out.
