2012 long bed vs. 2017 long bed

2012 long bed vs. 2017 long bed
I just bought a 2012 Ram 2500 crew cab long bed. The bed is in bad shape,but I found a 2017 long bed take off. I was wondering if the 2017 bed work on my 2012? Thanks for the help

I hate to state the obvious but you could crawl underneath and measure the distance between the mounting points. Both being 4th gen trucks I would suspect that they would be the same but thats an expensive gamble.
