Default Door locks and remote starter stopped working

Hello all, So a few months ago the door locks and remote starter just stopped working in my 2011 Ram. At first the remote starter was intermittent, then it all stopped working all together. I changed the battery in the key fob and when that didn't work I took it to the dealer and had a new fob programed which also didn't resolve the issue, and no codes were returned. I checked the hood latch, disconnected the connectors and reconnected and they looked fine. The dealer wants to charge me $150 an hour to diagnose the issue. I thought I'd check in here before committing to a pricey maintenance bill. Thoughts? Much appreciated!

Do the door locks not work, or just the door locks from the remote fob? Do you have a second original remote fob you can try?

Are you comfortable with a wiring diagram and a multimeter? You might be able to troubleshoot at least part of this yourself if you are.

Hi Rod, thanks for the reply. Yes, the door locks work at the door, I have OEM Key Fob and and bought a new one which was programed by the Dealership. Still no go. Yes, Ill use a multimeter, but don't have wiring diagrams.

It looks like you probably need to make some measurements between the Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) and the TIPM. You can register for free at this site to get access to the wiring diagrams, but unfortunately FCA is rather stingy with the amount of detail they include in their wiring diagrams. You should at least be able to determine if the WIN is attempting to trigger the TIPM for a remote start though.

Question Battery change in 03 Durango and door locks/remote starter stopped working.

Good Morning,

I had to change out my battery last night and after everything was installed, the power locks and alarm stopped working. The strange thing is I can hear them wanting to open but the latches will not move to the unlock or lock position from neither the fob or the driver door. Does anyone know if this is a relay or fuse issue? Any help on this would be great, just put 1200 plus in part into my Rango and I really do not want to mess with anything else. Please help if you can!!!!!!

Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately it appears a problem with your Dodge brought you here. Hopefully a Mod can move this to the correct Durango forum for your 2003. You'll likely get better responses there than in this 4th Gen Ram forum.
