Default '11 ram 1500 4.7l drone noise

I am scratching my head on this one. I have owned my 2011 Ram 1500 for a month now. It does have 100k miles on it with a 4.7L V8, however it is a very clean, and well maintained truck. 2 weeks after purchasing this from the dealer, it starting making a weird, grumbling/groaning noise when in high gear, no load, at 1200-1500 rpms. It ONLY makes this noise when I accelerate but stay within the 1200-1500 rpms range, if i let off the pedal it stops, and If I accelerate beyond the 1200-1500 rpm range it stops as well. I have also felt a slight rumble/grinding feeling in the gas pedal, and my trans seems to want to slip when I really get into it, for example punching it to pass someone or getting on the interstate. I took it to the dealer and they told me it wasn't my torque converter, and the trans seemed fine. So they added exhaust insulators to try and combat the noise and that did not work! The tech said he heard the noise plain as day, but was not sure what it could be, and also stated, "we don't see a whole lot of 4.7's in here, so I'm not sure what it is but its not your torque converter or trans." SO what could this be!! I have tried to think of every possibility and wanted to see what you guys might suggest. Thanks in advance for the help!

Where does it sound like it's coming from? Engine? Trans?

It sounds as if it is coming from the engine on the passenger side. The noise kind of sounds like a manual does if you "lug" it down in high gear. The tech I had at my dealership, said he was a trans guy and its "NOT" the torque converter.

Have you checked to make sure someone didn't install a cold air intake, remove the air filter, or drill a bunch of holes in the air intake box that might be causing airflow noise at those RPMs?
