Ive been told by different people that the ball joints are press in and yet others have said that the entire control arm has to be replaced? Can someone please confirm which is true?

Rock auto does not list the ball joint seperately, only lists the entire control arm.

for a 2012 , your ok to replace the ball joints.

on 2015 and newer 1500 ds builds, the 4x4 versions needs control arm replacement but 4x2 versions you can replace the ball joint.

Rock auto shows bout the control arm and the lore ball joint, two separate listings. They actually have several options for both

you can go either way. decide whats easiest and cost efficient. you will need a bj press to do just the ball joint; so consider the cost of the tool. if you replace the control arm...you will need a wheel alignment.
