2014 Ecodiesel, P26AB code
I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel, ~52k miles.
I've been having an intermittent engine light going on, for about the last 6 months, it is a P26AB code, apparently a 3 way coolant valve sticking. So I took it into the dealer to have it looked at, along with a recall. I had spoken with someone at FCA about the code and they had said it was covered under the powertrain warranty.
Dealer is saying it is not covered. They want 550 dollars to replace the 3 way coolant valve.
Is this normal that it is not covered? I ended up searching and finding this video:
Does anyone know if the ecodiesel has this coolant valve in the same location? It appears to be a fairly easy job, and I'd rather do it myself versus chucking half a grand at the dealer. I've done about 40 engine swaps in 80's/90's FWD Dodges, I know my way around engines, if anything this should be a lot easier because I actually have room to work with in there
Also, is the part number the same for any engine that has this part? Anyone have the part number? Or any advice if someone has done this before?
Mods, if not in the right place, send it forward and pm me the link please.
