Default Tipm

I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 5.7L truck. Apparently the TIPM is going out and I frequently have problems starting the truck. It has over 100k miles on it. Should I replace this? (expensive) Or should I try a bypass (way cheaper). Advice on the reliability of this fix? Thanks.

buy one and replace it. you still have to take it to dealer to have it programmed. i have half the mileage you do on a 2011 5.7 and had the dealer replace mine last summer. i had a no start issue with no codes, just dash warning lights, forgot which one(s)

Use the external relay kit. No need to buy a new TIPM. You'll end up back at square one again. I do them all the time.

What cracks me up is that the pictures in the star case are of the engine bay on a Durango or Grand Cherokee lol. Just ignore that, the wiring is still the same.

Here are the instructions. Have fun ! (:
