Question Coolant Temperature Question???

Can someone explain to me how/why the coolant temperature is seemingly excessive on these 5.7 Hemis? Normal highway driving the temp can range from 195 to 209 degrees which are seemingly high compared to the other vehicles I have owned. Now, I have only owned the 2013 Ram 1500 for about 2 minutes, but the coolant temperature has gotten my attention.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I manage a fleet of around 40 vehicles and over 25 of those are 5.7 Hemi's. In 2009 with the start of the EVIC the temps displayed were always around 195. After sometime in the 2011 or 12 model year I noticed that the coolant temps were almost always over 200 and seemed to fluctuate a lot up and down. Anywhere between 200 and 212 was normal on the display so I would say yours fits into the normal category that I have seen.

According to the service manual, the stock thermostat opens at 195 degrees F so it seems reasonable that you would typically see temperatures around 200 degrees.

I have a problem with my engine water temp. I have a 2009 ram 1500 5.7 and for the past year I have noticed the temp temp has been over the 195 deg. well into the 210 when driving in the city with the A/C on but the air coming from the vents is not. as clod and when it gets over the 197 deg the compressor disengages . I know about that and I notice the my electric fan stoped working. I checked for power coming out from the fuse box plug to the elec. fan connector and I had no power and sometimes I would have power . The 2 relays checked good I can here the clicking sound but still it works intimating and some times not at all. HELP!!!!
