high oil pressure

Default high oil pressure

2009 Ram 1500. Oil pressure constant at 96 lbs.

that's what the gauge reads in the dash. Could it be the Oil sending unit?

You could do a proper pressure check with a gauge, from the engine...However...I'm thinking if your oil pressure was that high, you'd have other symptoms as well. Its also not usual for the pressure to go up like that unless you have internal blockage somewhere or most likely a failed oil pump or possibly a bad oil filter. Did this problem begin just after your oil was changed?

1. Your 09 is a 4th gen, you're in the wrong place
2. More than likely is the sensor; are you getting code P0520 as well?
