Unhappy 2015 Ram 1500 Check Engine light

Hello everyone,

I have a 2015 Ram Crew Cab 4X4 Big Horn. I have had a few issues in the past 6 months. Three times the check engine light has come on. Twice while the 36,000 mile warranty was still in effect and now a third time and the warranty has expired. I the first two times the dealership said that both times it needed a software update. This time I am worried that they were just covering up an issue and I will now have to pay for this issue that should have been fixed during the first two trips. I am going to have to constantly take this truck in for software updates?

The code will point you in the right direction. Can't help you much without it. The vehicle is telling you whats wrong. If they did not clear the code, you can go by any auto parts store and they will read it for you. You can buy a code reader for less than $20 these days. Pays for itself the first time you use it to read a code and diagnose a problem yourself.

Hi LERCH_65,

We're sorry to hear this. Is your vehicle currently at the dealer? Please send us a private message if additional assistance is needed while you're in service.
