Default 2010 1500 gas tank strap... recall

Hi. I have a 2010 Laramie crew cab, with a HEMI and it's a 4x4. With the 32 gallon gas tank.I have looked for a post about this. Could not find one. Sorry if duplicating... FCA recall, U04, "tank strap frame T-strap bracket" (gas tank) issued 3/18. Don't know if the recall is 32 gallon tank specific. Took my 2010 Laramie in for the recall. 32 gallon tank on bad strap brackets scares me a little. While looking at the bracket they called me back to the shop. Told me they also have to replace the vent tube and fuel line, they are eating those repairs too. My 2010 1500 has only 72k miles on it. Might be dry rotted lines. I just thought that I would mention. 1. If anyone hadn't seen the recall. 2. If anyone felt they could live without doing the strap bracket recall, for whatever reason. Lines could be an issue too.

I just checked the recall log for my '09 & it says the tank strap fix hasn't been done to my truck yet. I did look it over & don't see any sign of rust yet. I've only had the rig a few months.

Hey Mike. I figured that I would make this thread for guys, like me, who thought that they might not have a strap issue. I was surprised when the mechanic came back and said that there is a vent tube & gas line issue. I DID NOT want to take a day for the strap issue that I probably didn't need. But, them saying that the lines needed to be replaced, free. is a good thing to take care of. Who knows, maybe mpg might improve. Lol.
