Default Trailer connector

I have a 2014 Ram 1500 when I hook up my trailer I get brake lights and turn signals on both trailer lights but I only get tail lights on the right side of the trailer, is there a separate fuse that would control the left side tail lights circuit any help would be appreciated

There is a single wire that feeds the parking/tail lights on both sides as well as the running lights on the side of the trailer. If you have just a single tail light that's out, it's probably an issue with the parking light filament on the bulb. Assuming they are standard bulbs instead of LEDs lights, there are two filaments in the brake/tail light bulbs - one for brake/turn and one for parking/running.

If you're saying that the rear and side tail lights only work on one side, then I'd suspect that you have a wiring issue on the trailer for that side of the trailer. Unfortunately a lot of folks use unsealed wire splices to wire up trailers. These splices are not good for connections exposed to the elements, and since they rely on piercing the wire insulation to make the connection, they often contribute to wire corrosion at the splice. That corrosion wicks underneath the wire insulation and often makes a long section of wire difficult to get a good connection to when trying to make repairs.

that is good info above....also,if the tail lights on your truck are working ok then that's another confirmation that it's either the bulb on trailer or the wiring between the bulb socket on trailer and the trailer connector on truck
