Default remote start

This morning I tried to remote start my truck (2009) when I left the gym and no luck. When I get to work, I lock the doors and then standing by the truck I try to remote start it. It engages and starts then immediately turns off. This is the first time having any trouble with this. Does anyone have a solution please.

Check your owners manual for things that will prevent the remote start from working. There are several scenarios where it will be disabled.

Thanks "jkeaton" but I have already check the manual and all is good there. The remote start worked last week like it should and this is the first time I have had any issues with it. Just frustrated. I did sit in the truck to see the EVIC for a message and it will not display anything. Normally you get two blinks of the lights before start and now its only getting one blink.

Have you found a solution for this problem yet? I have been having a different issue with my remote start. Mine always starts but from time to time is will shut off when I open the door to get into the truck.

Try to open and close the front hood.

There is a switch in the front hood latch mechanism which disables remote start when the front hood isn't fully closed (it is also used for the alarm).

The switch in my Durango had issues which caused the alarm to go off sometimes and also caused remote start to not work.

my gas tank sender is broken ( 2014 RAM) so from full to about 50-60 miles down the road gas gauge works, then goes to zero, with a CEL and error that tells me I am low on fuel. When I get "low on fuel" the remote start works, but turns right off again. I suspect there may be some times when a sensor thinks it is not smart to run the engine remotely.

Hi rsdata,
I do apologize for the trouble you are experiencing with your RAM. I kindly recommend connecting with your local dealer. If you are in need of any assistance with that process, our team is available via private message.

Does anyone know if they are 2 difference antennas or the same antenna between the remote locks and remote start?
