Default 2011 Ram 1500 No reverse

2011 Ram 1500 automatic over 100thousand miles 2 wheel drive. Started out with a shutter in reverse. Now no reverse at all. Any idea what to check?

Let's start with the obvious. Have you checked the level and condition of the transmission fluid? If so, any other things you have checked that the forum should be aware of? The more information you provide, the more helpful the forum's responses are likely to be.

Transmission fluid was full and new. No discoloration no burned smell. No parts in the pan. Transmission was serviced about a month ago. Yes the correct ATF was used. So Far I have considered the solenoid pack. I have the gray 23 pin. connector. I am not throwing any codes even after removing leads from battery and driving to try to set a code. I had also noticed It was not shifting properly into 5th gear but that has cleared up after the battery disconnect. Was told by a Dodge tech that if it isn't setting codes chances are it isn't the solenoid pack. His suspicion was it was a pack in the transmission. At this point I can replace the solenoid at the price for the part $300.00 ish and maybe be out the money for no fix? Or I can bite the the bullet and replace the whole transmission? I was looking for other options I might have missed or someone who has run into the same problem that could share the fix they used. Thanks so much for your time. Also wondering if anyone has bought a transmission with any of the local parts stores and been happy with it? Autozone, O'reilly's, etc.

Was there a reason why the trans was serviced a month ago? Or just prevetative? How was the fluid then? If all was good before service I think I might gamble on a solenoid pack? Tough call. Shudder usually means slippage. Could be a result of low oil pressure caused by faulty solenoid valve...or worn clutch pack.

In the old days I would guess it's the sprag clutch in the back of the tranny, but these days I dunno.....

The service was done due to maintenance. No issues when it was done, no burnt ATF. Today I picked the brain of a second Dodge tech. Got exact same response of, "if there is no code it is not the solenoid. " So it looks like I will be ordering a transmission.
