Hello all. I'm in the process of searching for my next truck. I wonder if somebody could give me a explanation of the results from the VIN decoder. Specifically I'm looking at the Tech Spec, towing capacity section. There are 3 columns of weights listed. What is the meaning of each column?

Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. 13500, 10550 lbs 9650.0 min 14650.0 max
Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Tongue Wt. 2025, 1583 lbs 1448.0 min 2198.0 max

what year so we can move this to the correct section so you can get some answers. This section is for member introductions, not technical questions.

 

I'm actually looking for a new to me truck so the year would be in the 2014 and newer range. A main requirement is towing capacity of at least 12000 lbs. And I may have figured out the columns. I believe it is for 4wd vs 2wd.
