Default Ambient Thermostat for outside temp

Hey Everyone!! So my 2009 Dodge Ram SLT outside thermostat is being weird.. it will not display the temp from outside. Once in a while, the temp will pop out on the display screen but it will display a wrong temp then disappear. I want to replace the sensor.. thing is I don't know where the sensor is.

do you have a scan tool?
if yes unplug the sensor and see what it reads...it should set a circuit high code are read really cold -40*C
jumper the two pins together....it should now set a circuit low code and read a high temp

if it does all these things the wiring is ok.

the temp displayed on the dash or console is not a live reading all the time. the sensor has a set of parameters before it updates so it may not always be correct.

I don't have a scan tool. The temperature would display once in a while displaying a - degree than would disappear.

the fault can only be:
the sensor
the wiring
the module
if you can't diagnose it due to lack of tools....your options are to guess or pay someone to diagnosis it.
