Key FOB won't lock/unlock
I have read a lot on this "big problem" with the Dodge key FOB's, but wanted to post my troubles and see if there is a "simple fix" someone may know about. I have a 2010, Dodge 3500, Laramie, DRW, crew cab truck. The key FOB is used to start the truck and that portion (with the transponder) works perfect. The problem is the key FOB just stopped working to lock/unlock/panic/remote start. I have replaced the battery in the FOB, cleaned all contacts with a pencil eraser, and replaced the rubber portion with the actual buttons on it, as well as checked the fuse under the hood. No change at all. I have read posts that say, insert the key into the ignition and press the unlock button while pressing the panic button (which is impossible when the key is in the ignition) so this won't work for me either. Can anyone assist me with this? Short of going to the dealer and being charged $60 to $80 or more for re-programming (when the key is starting the vehicle) Any help with antenna locations, or other suggestions is greatly appreciated. Oh, lastly, I am a full time RV'er and in an RV park, so could it be an interference problem or would that effect the transponder portion? Should I try moving the truck and see if it's just interference? Thanks!
