Default Help- bolt backing out front driveline

So I was under my 2010 3500 Mega cab looking for some mysterious rattles. While checking things I noticed that the front driveline at the transfer case had one of the bolts backed out about a 1/2 inch. What the heck?

1. How did that happen? 2. Can I get it back in while the truck is on it’s wheels, etc.

Thanks!

I wouldn't see why not, however you may have a bad u joint that caused the bolt to back out, or if not it may be bad now. I would replace the u joint and put some blue loc-tite on the threads of the bolt or bolts to prevent them from backing out. Check for torque specs.
