If you have ticking at cold start up and it goes away, you should have the manifold bolts checked out. That’s one of the main symptoms of broken manifold bolts. It ticks for about 30 seconds to 1.5 minutes. Then goes away.
It's dry lifters, they need the oil pressure from the pump then they quiet down, all engines do it after sitting for prolonged periods. I've checked my manifold bolts fingers crossed so far so good, I keep an eye on them every 3,000 or so miles I take a peek while I'm changing the oil.
