Default Here in the UK with weird transmission problem

Hi everyone.

A little intro and a problem with a 2010 Ram 1500 Auto 5.7 Hemi 4WD.

Am here in the UK, near London, and yup its raining..lol.... Purchased a 2010 on a private sale about 3 weeks ago, 55000 miles great condition, and I love it. But, and there is alaways a but!
When driven from cold all is well, hence why I never spotted this problem when I purchased it, only 300 miles later, it was a private sale sold as seen rules apply, and in the UK that means you own it.. but when it warms up and is being driven I get a strange noise from the transmission.
The problem occurs on the over run when I lift off the gas pedal, it behaves exactly as it should until the tach drops to 1500rpm, when it feels like the tranny drops out of gear tach goes to idle and I get a whiring noise from the tranmission area, Imagine a starter motor engaging and that describes the noise. (its not the starter by the way) if you knock it into N the noise will continue but decreases in pitch all the way down to a stop, so is deffo speed related to the road wheels, if you rev the engine in N while the noise is there it does not change so its not engine related. Drop it into gear rolling and hit the gas again noise stops straight away and it drives fine, I have no shift issues at all it drives perfectly. I had the vehicle into a transmission specialst here who removed and stripped the box, but found nothing in there that would give this problem, the overun clutch and controls within the box were fine, but the problem still is there. its been in 3 different shops now and everyone is baffled by it, and all think its something to do with the 4 wheel transfer box, and the problem is there no matter what drive is selected 4 wheel auto 4 wheel 2 wheel etc. Question is, obvious has anyone else heard of this and give me some sort of guide as to what could be the issue here.
Thanks in advance.

If you have a neutral position on the 4wd selector maybe try placing transfer case in neutral when its making the noise and see what happens ?? Might help narrow it down a bit ?

good idea, but if its an electronic shift t-case you have to be stopped to get it to shift into neutral.

without hearing the noise this is a tough one, does it make the noise while coasting? if so it could be gear lash being loose.
