2012 Ram 1500 Big Horn 5.7 Hemi

There was a HUGE snow storm in Illinois, the 4wd would not kick in. I had to drive in 2wd for about 45 miles. it was intense. I started the truck the next morning to go sledding with my kids and the truck said it was in 4lo, while the dial on the dash said it was in 2wd. When I tried to put in 4 auto, it would not go in and said to service 4wd. I replaced the transfer case shift motor and it shifts really hard and wont go past third gear. It acts like it is still in 4wd, but the motor comes shipped in 2wd? I manually moved the transfer case to what I think is 2wd. the front propeller shaft moved with my hands turning it. any other issues i should check out?
