Default CV axle removal problem

I have a 2011 Ram 1500 SLT 4x4 quad cab that blew out the passenger side cv axle yesterday. Boot is all torn up and the bearings inside are all gone, so time to put on a new one. I've done a bunch of (shade-tree mechanic style) wrenching on motorbikes and cars/trucks, so I went online, watched some videos and went to work on my front end. Got the tie rod off and the upper ball joint off no problem. Took me an hour of pb blaster and a breaker bar to get the nut off the cv axle, and I thought things were going pretty good. When I went to pull out the cv axle itself, it won't let go. I've PB blasted it, pulled on it, tried a tie rod pickle fork on it from the back side, and got under there with a 24oz hammer...nada. Same thing in the wheel bearing side, feels like it's welded in there. So now I have the front axle torn apart with 2 separate pieces of cv axle stuck I there with no idea how to get them out so I can install the new one.

Before I taught the neighbour kids any more creative vocabulary, I packed it in for the day and now I'm looking for some wisdom from the group. Anyone else have this problem? What did you do to get around it? I'll probably go at it after work tomorrow, and apply some heat to the bearing hub side to get that out, but I'm not sure how to motivate the other end off the axle shaft goin into the front diff?
