Backup Cam vs. Uconnect 5.0
Hey I have a question that a few of you may have a answer to. I just got a 2015 Ram 1500 Big Horn not long ago and it didn't come with a backup camera but I knew that the Uconnect 5.0 was compatible with a camera. So I bought this camera off of amazon...
Now I will admit hindsight is definitely 20/20, I didn't even think of that because my truck didn't come with a camera the wiring harness would not have a RCA port for the camera to plug into. I had thought that possible the head unit would have an unused slot for it.
So here's my fix question. I know that a right now fix is to buy a "Camera Interface" wiring harness such as this...
But is there another way? Instead could I just buy a female RCA and plug it into the correct pins on the back of the head unit? Example:
And yes the reason why I ask is because I don't want to spend over $200 on a plugin for the camera.
Any help is welcomed and I appreciate the comments in advance!
