White Flap Clicking Behind Glove Box
Hello everyone,
I have a 2009 Dodge Ram Sport 1500 which recently started to have the knocking behind the glove box. I didnt freak out because about 1 year ago I had the same problem behind my radio and took it to the shop and they told me it was actuators and replaced 2 of them for around $700. After I was told the diagnosis I researched and saw how easy the job was and thought if it ever happens again I will attempt to do it myself. Well it did only this time the noise was behind the glove box, after watching several more videos it seemed very simple, remove the glove box and replace. Well unfortunately for me it is not the easy 3rd acuator. The clicking noise was still there, and eventually the noise stopped completely and so did the air. Only blows hot air from the feet, will not change to defrost or anything else. Only spills warm air from the feet when the blower is on. Also to be noted when the knocking is not happening the AC orange light will also not come on. I happened to disconnect my battery for something and when I started the truck the knocking began again and the AC was ice cold and also the AC light was back on. So I done more research because I was determined I would be able to fix the problem myself. I thought I had it narrowed down to the recirculate acuator, so I removed the top and bottom glove box per a few videos I has seen. When I opened the top I noticed this white box that was flapping up and down causing the noise. At this point I do belive it is beyond me being capable of repairing it myself, but I would like to be able to kind of have an idea of what is going on before I take it to the shop. I am a woman and do not want to get completely ripped off especially knowing the repair I had done previous was under an hour and the part less than $50 dollars. If you could shed some light on what I can expect I would really appreciate it. Thank you all for what you do here on this forum you cant imagine the people you help out all over the world. I will include a link to the video i made of the knocking noise I found behind the dash
